Area W2 Humorous Speech & Evaluation Contest 2008 Report
It was the battle between 5 clubs in Area W2.
It was a rainy day. It started drizzling since morning. However, it could not and would not stop the Toastmasters spirit. Our very own UEM Academy TMC representative, Hadzrin was all ready for the challenge.
The Humorous Contest started at 2.35pm. After the opening address and explanation on rules by the contest chair, it’s time for the contestants to blow the stage. One by one, every contestant had given their best and the theaterette was filled with laughter.
Hadzrin was the 4th contestant. Instead of presenting his previous club contest speech, “Don’t Judge a Player by His Ladies”, he has prepared a new speech titled “Twinkle Star”. It was a speech that is filled with drama, suspense and the most important thing, he made us laugh.
The next session was the Evaluation Contest. The test speaker delivered a speech on communication and the evaluators went all out to give their evaluations. Again, it was a stiff competition among all the contestants.
Finally, it was the moment that everyone was waiting for, the announcement of final results. The hall went ecstatic when the contest chair announced that Hadzrin emerged as the Champion for Humorous Speech Contest and 2nd runner-up for the Evaluation Contest!
